Weekend Eats – 6/18/12

Friday night highlights: being home alone and having control of the remote (no sports!) + drinking a root beer (just like the Romneys!).

Saturday breakfast: leftover frittata blanketed by Cholula, English muffin from the freezer, fruit, and coffee.

We have our first tomatoes!

Rock the Garden with the Basilica and downtown Minneapolis in the background.  Love this spot.

I brought a giant bag with a blanket, ponchos, rain jackets, and a tarp, and we only ended up using the blanket.  Hooray!

Mexican falafel: so-so.  Unpictured gyro: delicious.

Howler: pretty good. tUnE-yArDs: good.  Doomtree: great. Trampled by Turtles: wished it were still Doomtree. The Hold Steady: always great.

Summer + The Hold Steady + the Walker lawn = Twin Cities love fest

Making a pit stop in Dinkytown for late night food was such a great move.

Breakfast after running off those beers and fries: homemade bagel from the freezer, scrambled eggs with herbs from the deck, fruit, coffee, water, and more water.

A giant bowl of greens was a necessity by Sunday night.

Greens + chicken + egg + blue cheese + pepitas + kohlrabi + beets + a million other things and Rustica bread
