About Me

Welcome to More Cheese More Chocolate!  I’m Kirsten, and here’s a little bit about me.

My life: I was born and raised in Iowa, went to college in Indiana, did a brief stint in Barcelona before spending a couple of years in Chicago, and now live in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I am an attorney and a seller of housewares, and I spend the majority of my free time in the kitchen. I’m still trying to figure out how baking loaves of bread and dozens of bagels is going to pay off my student loans, so if you have any ideas I’d love to hear them.

My favorite foods: bread, Asian pears, cheese, runny egg yolks, avocados, thick-cut bacon, carnitas, salty butter, quark, whole milk, pomegranates, hot fudge sundaes, everything bagels, Pearson’s nut rolls, the saltiest and chewiest chips in the bag from Chipotle

My favorite things to make: bread of any kind, cheese

My favorite non-cooking activities: running, finishing crosswords, watching Iowa football, yoga

More Cheese More Chocolate because: My mom taught me that any food can be improved with the addition of cheese sauce or chocolate sauce.

    Your website is fantastical!

Can you do me a favor and replicate the chicken tortilla soup from Masa?

Oh, and my birthday is about 7 months away in case you need to plan to bake something in April.

Thanks, HT. I will try to track down the recipe – I’ve actually never tried it. And I will never forget your birthday. 4.20! I’ll start thinking about treats today, just to make sure I come up with something good by spring.
